Modeling Toolset

Our modeling toolset is made of three plugins: a lattice tool, an edge slider and the sketch drag tool. Please, check out each tool overview at the bottom of this page. If you are planning to use one of our tools in a studio, we would be grateful if you could let us know. Available for Lightwave 11 and 2015 (64 bits) WindowsOSXWindows Download OSX Download By downloading this tool you automatically accept our terms of agreement. Lattice Tool How to use: Activate the tool and define the lattice subdivisions. Once you'll move one of the lattice handles, the subdivisions will freeze and you won't be able to change them anymore. Interpolations: bezier is for smoother results, while linear for higher control on local areas of the mesh. Use "Handle Radius" and "Show Wires" to edit the lattice display settings. The algorithm uses multi-threaded evaluation to make deformations faster. Works with Symmetry. Works with polygon and point selection. Use Shift and Ctrl to add and toggle lattice handles selection. Known limitations: Does not work with symmetry. Edge Slider How to use: Select the edges you wish to slide and activate the tool. Left click on a viewport and drag to edge-slide. Right click on viewport and drag to edge-loop-slide. Works with symmetry. Known limitations: Our edge slider is topology and loop based. For this reason, when selecting multiple non-contiguous edges the sliding direction may not be as expected. Sketch Drag How to use: When nothing is selected the tool will work with [...]

V-Deformer

V-Deformer is an old plug-in by Daniele Federico which has been revamped and improved for Lightwave 2015. This tool will let you deform a mesh using multiple magnet handles, a polyline or a spline curve. It is particularly useful for morph creation and combing hair. Features: Multithreaded evaluation. Up to 20 control points Linear and EaseIn-EaseOut falloff None, Linear or Spline interpolation between control points If you are planning to use one of our tools in a studio, we would be grateful if you could let us know. Available for Lightwave 11 and 2015 (64 bits) WindowsOSXWindows Download The installer will copy the plug-in file to  C:\Program Files\Toolchefs\ . OSX Download The installer will copy the plug-in file to /Applications/Toolchefs . By downloading this tool you automatically accept our terms of agreement. How to use: Left click on any viewport to add an handle. Right click on an handle and drag to change its radius. Once the positions have been recorded you cannot add more handles, but you can still change the radius of the existing ones.

Harmonic Deformer (Lightwave)

The tcHarmonciDefomer is a free form deformer that uses a closed mesh (cage) to deform an higher resolution mesh. Its implementation is based on the Pixar siggraph paper: http://graphics.pixar.com/library/HarmonicCoordinatesB/paper.pdf Please note: Harmonic Coordinates are not meant to work on high poly meshes and cages. If you have a high poly character, use more than one low poly cage to localise the deformation to certain areas of its mesh. If you are planning to use one of our tools in a studio, we would be grateful if you could let us know. Available for Lightwave 11 and 2015 (64 bits). WindowsOSXWindows Download OSX Download By downloading this tool you automatically accept our terms of agreement. How to use First import your cage, then import your mesh. (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HELP LW UNDERSTAND WHICH ITEM PROCESS FIRST! ALTERNATIVELY YOU CAN CHANGE THE ITEM EVALUATION SEQUENCE IN THE SCENE EDITOR) Select the object that you want deform. Set the Subdivision order to last to improve performance. Apply the tcHarmonicDeformer deformer. Double click on the deformer. Set the parameters and click "calculate harmonic weights". (If you use high poly meshes and cages, the calculation could lock your machine!)   Deformer Parameters Use Cage Bind Transform If this parameter is on, the deformer will also take into account the cage transform delta movement from the binding position (when the weights were calculated). If you're planning to parent your cage to a bone, you might want to have this disabled. Weight Map Mesh weight map to localise/control better the [...]
